DATA ENGINEER (DIGITAL SOLUTIONS)

<p>Continental’s Data &amp; Customer Solutions Competence Center develops innovative digital products that support both our customers and internal teams, and we’d love for you to be part of it!</p><p>Our Digital Solutions IT team is searching for a talented Data Engineer to oversee and enhance our data services.</p><p>As a Data Engineer, you will work in a SCRUM team closely with the backend developers, solutions architects and UI/App developers to build and enhance our existing and future digital services within Continental Tires.</p><p>&#xa0;<u>Main responsibilities:</u></p><ul><li>Support and maintain cloud-based data platforms, pipelines, and streaming solutions;</li><li>Develop and enhance batch and real-time data pipelines:</li><li>Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data and platform issues;</li><li>Support CI/CD, deployment, and automation processes;</li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and deliver data requirements;</li><li>Contribute to data models, Lakehouse structures, and data quality improvements;</li><li>Apply engineering best practices through testing, code reviews, and documentation;</li><li>Work with internal and external teams to deliver scalable data solutions;</li><li>Ensure data reliability, performance, and availability across platforms;</li><li>Stay current with cloud, data, and streaming technologies and contribute to continuous improvement.</li></ul> <ul><li>University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related studies;</li><li>+2 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or data warehousing.</li><li>Experience with Java and SQL;</li><li>Knowledge of PostgreSQL is an advantage;</li><li>Understanding of data integration and processing of data from multiple source systems;</li><li>Familiarity with data streaming technologies such as Kafka and Apache Flink;</li><li>Exposure to modern data lake technologies (e.g., Apache Iceberg) is a plus;</li><li>Knowledge of HBase, Spark, or Hive is a plus;</li><li>Familiarity with Git, CI/CD practices, and tools such as Jenkins;</li><li>Experience working in Agile/SCRUM teams;</li><li>Analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills;</li><li>Proficient English skills (written and spoken).&#xa0;</li></ul> <p>Our offer:</p><ul><li>Integration in a challenging and international work environment;</li><li>Flexible working model;</li><li>Collaborative working style;</li><li>Continuous opportunities for the promotion of talent and training;</li><li>Opportunity to make a difference.</li></ul><p>We are committed to fostering a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.
