The ideal candidate must be able to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, manage multiple tasks, and enjoy working in a fast-paced growing environment. The Payment Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate posting of account receivables payments from Medicare, commercial insurance companies, and patients. This role requires extensive knowledge of payor coverage criteria and medical insurance billing, to maximize clean posting practices and an understanding of electronic and paper Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from all payors. This is NOT a remote position. <ul> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Posts accounts receivable daily; either electronically or on paper, as instructed by company protocol. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Interprets Accounts Receivable and process proper adjustments to outstanding Accounts Receivables to resolve balances based on correct accounting principles. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Gathers documentation needed to process payments and adjustments. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Keeps leadership team aware of any systems issues or procedure problems that may affect payments or adjustments. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Documents actions in billing system in accordance with company policy, to ensure batch reports are balanced and reconciled against bank deposits. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">May be assigned special projects by management due to advanced knowledge of billing and posting functions. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">As directed by leadership team, maybe required to review escalated payments or credit/refund issues that impact the team's ability to process work within the department. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Other duties as dictated by business conditions or management directive. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Occasionally, employees currently recognized as high performers through recent performance evaluations, or employees with current demonstrated productivity leadership compared to other employees on existing metrics may be asked to engage in overtime. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrate and promote a work culture committed to UVVC’s Core Values: Understanding, Nurturing, Ingenuity, Trust, Excellence and Diversity. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Act as an ambassador of UVVC and demonstrate behaviors consistent with UVVCs Standards of Conduct outlined in the employee handbook. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations. PHI is a top priority of our organization. </li> </ul> Qualifications <ul> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">High school diploma required. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">3 years’ experience in payment posting. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing codes. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Good written and verbal communication skills. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to read and understand explanations of medical benefits and explanation of benefits (EOB). </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of Excel a plus. </li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Dependable; able to meet reliable attendance and punctuality standards for the role. </li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion">About us: UVVC, is a leading provider of comprehensive vein and vascular care with over 60 clinics across Arizona, Illinois, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and expanding.
