ANALYTICS SENIOR MANAGER - RISK & CONTROLS

<p>We’re looking for a Senior Analytics manager who is passionate about our mission of Money Without Borders to partner with our financial crime product teams to help drive data-driven and innovative growth decisions while helping to combat financial crime.&#xa0;</p><p>At Wise, we strike a critical balance between user experience and the stringent demands of risk prevention. Our mission within the Risk &amp; Controls team in APAC is to stay one step ahead of emerging risk while ensuring that our customers enjoy a seamless experience. In this vital role, you will innovate and implement controls that enhance security without compromising user convenience.</p><p>Most importantly, you’ll collaborate closely with your product managers, designers, data scientists and engineers to bring your insights into real change for our customers and help drive our mission!&#xa0;</p><p><strong>Your mission:</strong></p><p>At Wise our mission is Money Without Borders - instant, convenient, transparent and eventually free. Whether our customers are sending money to another country, spending money abroad, or making and receiving international business payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.&#xa0;</p><p><strong>Here’s how you’ll be contributing to the Financial Crime team:</strong></p><ul><li>You’ll expose the vast data on our processes to the product teams across Wise in a meaningful and actionable way in which people can proactively access the information without friction or need for analyst assistance</li><li>Proactively contribute to, own, create, track key metrics and results&#xa0; for your product and operational teams, keeping them accountable throughout the quarter</li><li>Support stakeholders by conducting research, preparing reports, and visualisations</li><li>Work with data scientists in understanding and developing the means for detecting and mitigating financial crime</li><li>Building the framework for managing risk and customer experience at scale</li><li>Drive the discovery phase by scoping new opportunities and suggesting features, rules and models to combat emerging risks</li><li>The role requires collaboration with Product, Data Scientists, Engineering and Operations Team</li></ul><p><strong>This role will give you the opportunity to:&#xa0;</strong></p><ul><li>Be part of a positive change in the world. We have a large, diverse team of analysts, data scientists and product managers that you will work with and learn from.</li><li>Lead and develop a team of 3 analysts: helping them to set priorities, coaching for impact, and maintaining quality standards</li></ul> <p><strong>A bit about you:&#xa0;</strong></p><ul><li>You have strong quantitative skills. Ideally a background in statistics, maths, physics, engineering, or other scientific area&#xa0;</li><li>You have experience in financial crime domain (typologies and alert investigations) balancing risk and customer experience</li><li>You have 9-10+ years of experience in data analytics (in financial crime or risk analytics) and 4-5+ years leading others (can be overlapping)&#xa0;</li><li>You have experience with SQL and Python/R</li><li>You have strong communication skills and an ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions</li><li>You have an ability to structure business problems with minimal supervision and an ability to prioritise problems independently, as well as condense complex systems/ideas into simple-to-understand data models</li><li>Hustler-mentality. You can take work beyond the analysis and get things done</li><li>You have experience with data visualisation tools (Looker, PowerBI, Tableau etc.) and demonstrate storytelling ability with data</li></ul><p><strong>Some extra skills that are great (but not essential):&#xa0;</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with user-facing products and data</li><li>Machine learning experience&#xa0;</li><li>Knowledge of regulations, sanctions compliance, and financial crime frameworks</li><li>Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance standards</li><li>Knowledge of A/B testing</li></ul><ul></ul> <div sr-tagline=""></div><p>For everyone, everywhere.
