<p><strong>AECOM&#xa0;</strong>is seeking a&#xa0;<strong>Water Treatment Engineer&#xa0;</strong>to support and advance technical delivery within our BC Water Team. This <strong>new role </strong>is ideal for an experienced engineer who provides specialized technical expertise and contributes independently to water treatment studies and designs while supporting overall project delivery.</p><p>This position may be based in&#xa0;<strong>Kelowna, Burnaby, or Victoria&#xa0;</strong>and offers the opportunity to work on complex water treatment projects alongside Technical Leads and multidisciplinary teams across British Columbia.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Serve as a senior technical resource providing specialized input to&#xa0;<strong>municipal drinking water treatment studies, designs, and infrastructure projects</strong>.</li><li>Independently complete discipline‑specific components of water treatment projects, including process design, analysis, and modeling.</li><li>Apply drinking&#xa0;water regulations, guidelines, and best practices in the development of compliant treatment solutions.</li><li>Participate in interdisciplinary reviews to ensure technical integration, constructability, and quality of deliverables.</li><li>Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications, and calculations related to potable water treatment systems.</li><li>Perform quality control reviews of work prepared by others.</li><li>Develop construction cost estimates, technical effort estimates, and provide input to project budgets and schedules.</li><li>Provide technical&#xa0;guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.</li></ul> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.</li><li>A minimum of&#xa0;<strong>6 years of related experience</strong>, or&#xa0;<strong>demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education</strong>, in water treatment or closely related fields.</li><li>Solid understanding of water treatment processes, system design, and performance evaluation.</li><li>Ability to work independently and exercise sound engineering judgment.</li><li>Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia, or ability to obtain registration.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Master’s or PhD degree in a related field with a focus on drinking water treatment or drinking water quality.</strong></li><li>10+ years of experience in water treatment engineering, with a focus on developing client focused solutions while achieving modeling and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Experience with water treatment modeling software and data analysis tools.</li><li><strong>Experience supporting municipal drinking water treatment or water infrastructure projects.</strong></li><li><strong>Familiarity with BC and Canadian drinking water regulatory frameworks, guidelines, and approval quality regulations and approval processes.</strong></li><li>Experience preparing technical specifications, design packages, and construction cost estimates.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to technical excellence within a team environment.</li><li>Expertise in water treatment modeling software and data analysis tools.</li><li>AWWA certifications or other relevant water treatment specialties preferred.</li></ul> <ul><li>Relocation is not available for this position.</li><li>Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.</li></ul><div sr-tagline=""></div><p>At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously. <strong><em>To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.</em></strong></p><p>&#xa0;</p><p><strong>About AECOM</strong>&#xa0;</p><p>AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
