REGISTERED NURSE - 3B CARDIAC - 36 HOURS - MIDNIGHTS

<p><strong><u>GENERAL SUMMARY</u></strong></p><ul><li>Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.</li><li>Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.</li><li>Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.</li><li>Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.</li><li>Acts as a patient advocate while utilizing the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal focused, individualized, safe, age specific care for all patients including those with complex pathophysiological needs and/or psychosocial needs.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Unit Description:</u></strong></p><p>3B is a 16 bed cardiac general practice unit (with remote telemetry) staffing 4 RNs (4:1) and 2 NAs. Main focus is anything cardiac in nature (NSTEMI not requiring PCI, CHF, arrhythmia, new pacemakers, etc.) but also takes general medical and surgical overflow (except stroke).</p> <p><strong><u>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED</u></strong></p><ul><li>BSN preferred.</li><li>Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.</li><li>Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.</li><li>Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.</li><li>Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.</li></ul><p><strong><u>CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED</u></strong></p><ul><li>Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.&#xa0;</li><li>ACLS needed within 3 months of hire&#xa0;</li></ul>
