In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to modernize infrastructure and drive complex cloud-native migrations, with a specific focus on transitioning enterprise scale workloads to GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC). <h3>Requirements</h3> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">7+ years of experience with cloud-native platform migrations, moving workloads to modern compute, storage, and auth primitives.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Proven expertise in GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC) migrations, specifically using GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) and managing Enterprise Managed Users (EMU).</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience building and maintaining scalable, reliable platform services.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Expertise in managing the full lifecycle of internal developer platforms (IDP).</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Understanding of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native architecture principles.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Hands-on experience with Azure (preferred) and deep comfort with distributed systems, platform APIs, and cloud-native design.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and HashiCorp tooling.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong automation skills in Python, bash, or alternatively Powershell; solid understanding of modern delivery practices including AI-powered SDLC and agentic tooling.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; ability to mentor client teams and work independently with minimal direction.</li> </ul> <h3>Key Responsibilities & Deliverables</h3> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Migrate all repositories, user accounts, and access controls to a new, secure GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC) instance with Enterprise Managed Users (EMU) and Data Residency.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Establish a governed EMU environment with centralized Identity and Access Management (IAM).</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Use GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) to migrate repositories and workflows, preserving full Git history, branch protections, and metadata.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Transition from individual repository permissions to scalable, team-based access synced with the identity provider.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Validate all integrations and dependent toolchains prior to cutover to ensure operational continuity.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Deliver a fully documented, governed environment in handoff.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Design and maintain robust infrastructure platforms that empower engineering teams to deliver software efficiently.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Standardize platform tooling, ensuring consistency and reliability across environments.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Develop and support self-service capabilities for infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows.</li> </ul> <h3>Team Collaboration:</h3> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Overlap with EST business hours daily is expected</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Reliable high-speed internet is a must</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with client IT teams and internal Modus engagement leadership</li> </ul> <h2>Bonus Skills</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">GitHub certifications</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Azure certifications</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">AWS certifications</li> </ul> <h3>You’ll Love </h3> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Lead High-Stakes Migrations: Own the strategy and execution of complex GHEC migrations.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Implement Enterprise Governance: Design secure, compliant environments using Enterprise Managed Users (EMU).</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Modernize DevOps: Use GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and IaC to build efficient, automated workflows.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Drive Impact: Partner with IT leadership to deliver production-ready environments that accelerate client development.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Join a Global Team: Work with a collaborative, remote-first squad of experts dedicated to engineering excellence.</li> </ul> By joining our team, you’ll be part of a winning squad that plays to each other’s strengths and celebrates every success together.
