FACILITY JANITOR

Overview Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the plant facility. Utilize sanitizing chemicals and cleaning equipment as needed. Responsibilities • Clean, sanitize, sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum all areas assigned: bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, welfare areas, and production offices. • Responsible for maintaining clean and safe work areas, free from slippery surfaces and floors littered with debris. • Clean and sanitize walls, windows, tables, floors, and like surfaces. • Empty trash and garbage containers. The employee must pick up cigarette butts, paper, and any debris that is found inside or outside the facility. • Visually observant of repairs or issues in the plant such as missing tiles, light bulb replacement, etc. and report to management. • Operate several types of motorized cleaning equipment. Will use, maintain, and store equipment properly. • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Skills and Abilities • Ability to read and understand cleaning labels. • Must be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions. • Ability to operate small power or hand tools. • Ability to operate machinery and equipment, such as ride-on scrubbers. • Basic computer skills are not required. Demonstrated Competencies • Work independently and complete assigned tasks. • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. • Must have regular and punctual attendance. Physical Requirements • This position requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, reaching, bending, and lifting. • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs. • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends. Experience: Previous janitorial experience is advantageous, but not required. Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
