Snr Expediting & Freight Forwarding Officer

Phu Bia Mining Limited is a Lao-registered company, 90 per cent owned by PanAust, an Australian-headquartered copper and gold mining company, with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.
Reporting to the Expediting and Freight Forwarding Supervisor. The Senior Expediting Officer is responsible for expediting purchase orders and coordinating international freight movements to ensure the timely delivery of materials that support operational and maintenance requirements. The role works closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to maximise supplier delivery performance (DIFOT), maintain accurate shipment information, and provide high-quality customer service across the supply chain.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Responsible (items) on the assigned incoterms location and all bulk commodities items.
• Obtain the relevant data and maintain a clear understanding of the open Purchase Orders that require action by the expediting team.
• Ensure all supplier documentation is uploaded in Supply Chain Report and saved in shared drive in order for timely goods collection.
• Ensure all delay items and the items will get due date in the next ten days are updated the new delivery date from suppliers.
• If the goods delivery date (ex-supplier) has changed, ensure all stakeholders are aware of the change.
• Collaborate and build effective and strong working relationships with suppliers, customers (end users) and members of the Supply and Logistics teams.
• Responsible for arranging international freight via air, sea, rail and road.
• To RFQ each shipment excludes consolidation zone prior arrange pickup. Select nominated forwarder refers on best price and best schedule and ensure to release shipments refer to delivery date in SAP.
• To record any Freight forwarding jobs in spread sheet, Example: Freight cost, SES Etc.
• To track and trace shipments status and update ETD Origin / ETA POD in supply chain report.
• To assist the purchasing team operation jobs.
• Carries out other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor and Tactical sourcing superintendent.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
• Higher Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, Business, or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in logistics, expediting, freight forwarding, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
