Job Title: Project Cost Controller

Location: Rustenburg

Job Type: 3 month contract, expected to work Full-Time hours (Onsite)

Key responsibilities

• Control the approved Capital Budget by ensuring accurate comparisons for management visibility, between order detail and the detail within the approved Capital Budget before placement of orders/contracts.

• Control over the approved Capital Budget by timeous identification of potential cost overruns and negative trends against Contracted / Order amounts by being actively involved in the project and by scrutinizing the details of the monthly budget versus actual quantities and costs together with schedule performance and trends.

• Compiling cost variances (including all change notices) and obtaining potential cost impacts of variances from relevant team members timeously.

• Accurate and timeous recording of actual costs incurred to ensure accurate reporting of cost status at each monthly interval to the Project Manager, Controls Manager, and external stakeholders.

• Generating Reports and reports on:

o Plan vs Actuals.

o Cash flow forecasts.

o BAC and EAC.

• Manage project contingency in accordance with management/client’s protocols.

• Drawing trends, forecasting, and generating time-phased cost flows reflective of project estimate at completion per control account.

• Preparation of budget impacts and sourcing of funds resulting from a request for change.

• Ensures timeous processing of approved transfer of funds as and when required, resulting from approved change requests.

• Generating Monthly Cost Reports to indicate true cost status and key project cost metrics for decision-making and corrective actions.

• Ensures timeous settlement of final accounts and order closeout upon completion of work.

• Ensures governance and/or Limits of Authority followed in terms of Budget Limits for approvals.

• Coordinate and compile project cost forecasts.

• Day-to-day cost control including verification of time sheets and/or other supporting documentation.

• Communicate due dates for payments to stakeholders.

• Expediting payments of invoices including verification of supporting documentation.

• System training may be offered by the client to enable you to assist with:

o Running reports on SAP

o Raise orders into SAP.

o Load invoices into SAP.

o Emergency order and payment in SAP.

o Load new contracts into SAP.

o Balancing SAP CAS accounts monthly and completing SAP month end.

o Verification of all quotes and invoices for correctness before processing and submission for signatures.

• Assist client/management with Project closure, closeout, Lessons learnt, etc. and reporting

• Assist on Procurement activities like PO Amendments, Scope finalising, expediting approvals on PR and PO,

• Track outstanding Procurements and facilitate sessions with End users and Procurement departments to finalise its processing,

• Update Procurement dashboard for management presentations,

• Consistent follow up with suppliers and contractors for cash flow forecast and cost timing updates,

• Draw reports from SAP (Budget, Actuals, Commitments),

• High level knowledge of EVM, CPI and SPI,

• Assist in generating / completing Change control reports in terms of Cost and Cashflow forecast

Draft and update the PoP (procurement operating plan),

Daily & weekly updates and record keeping of the in progress, outstanding and overdue requisition and purchase order file,

Some expediting – adherence to schedule promised delivery dates,

Track import freight,

Requirements

National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in: Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance or Accounting

CCP or CCT qualification is an advantage

15 years of experience as a project cost controller in mining

Must have experience using the following software:

· SAP

· Excel pivot tables

· Power BI
