Dance Instructor
About this role
<p data-pasted="true">John Chavis Memorial Park is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Dance Instructor to bring the joy of movement and music to children ages 3–5. The instructor will develop and lead fun, age-appropriate lessons introducing young dancers to foundational ballet, tap, jazz, and Hip Hop techniques. The ideal instructor will create an encouraging and energetic environment where children can build confidence, coordination, and a love of dance while adapting activities to meet the needs and skill levels of each participant.</p>
<ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt;" data-pasted="true"><li>High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency; experience in dance instruction, recreation, childcare, or related field, with knowledge of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop or related dance disciplines preferred.</li><li>Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.</li><li>Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to engage and motivate young children.</li><li>Dependable, patient, energetic, and enthusiastic.</li></ul><br>
<br><strong>ADA and Other Requirements:</strong><p>Positions in this class typically require balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.</p><p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p><p>Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.</p><p><strong>Visual Acuity:</strong></p><p>The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.</p><strong data-pasted="true">Note:</strong><br>This job classification description is intended to be generic in nature.
