About this role

<p><strong>AECOM&#xa0;</strong>is seeking a&#xa0;<strong>Structural Engineering Graduate&#xa0;</strong>for a new position to be based in&#xa0;<strong>Kitchener, Ontario</strong>.&#xa0;</p><p>This is a new full time position expected to start in May 2027.</p><p>The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>Builds analytic and design skills.</li><li>Conducts structural engineering designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.</li><li>Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.</li><li>Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.</li><li>Prepare and review of contract specifications including cost estimates and quantities.</li><li>Undertake site inspection of structures within the framework of a prescribed methodology.</li><li>Provide periodic site reviews to&#xa0;monitor a contractor’s performance in construction, including attendance at site meetings, and preparation of site visit reports.</li><li>Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.</li></ul>

<p><strong>Minimum Requirements :</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering</li><li>Valid Ontario G driver’s licence with a good driving record.</li><li>Ability and willingness to work from the Kitchener office two to three days per week, in accordance with the team’s current hybrid work requirements</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior professional</li><li>Previous internship, co-op, or practical experience in structural engineering or related field</li><li>Proficiency in structural analysis and design software including AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, and STAAD.Pro</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite</li><li>Eligibility to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status clearance, including meeting the residency requirement of having lived in Canada for the past five years</li></ul>
