Part - Time Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Instructor

This posting is for two (2) part-time unclassified positions at the Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) - Many Campus Salary - $50.00 per hour Days/Times: hours vary, day and/or night; as needed basis.

• Minimum five (5) years of verifiable experience operating heavy equipment in the construction, utility, mining, forestry, or related industry. • Demonstrated knowledge of safe operating procedures and equipment maintenance. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to effectively teach adult learners in both classroom and hands-on settings. • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Valid driver's license required.

Preferred: • NCCER Instructor Certification or willingness to obtain certification. • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. • Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment. • Experience working with workforce development or technical education programs. • Previous teaching or training experience.

Physical Requirements: • Must have use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, and handle or feel objects and controls. • Must be sufficiently mobile to work in a classroom and/or outdoor environment with vehicles/equipment and students daily. • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 pounds. • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform hands-on demonstrations.

Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is seeking a qualified Part-Time Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Instructor to provide classroom and hands-on instruction for students preparing for careers in the heavy equipment industry. The instructor will deliver high-quality training in the safe operation, inspection, maintenance, and productivity of a variety of heavy equipment while fostering a positive learning environment that prepares students for entry-level employment.
