Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Plant Controller with all plant finance and accounting activities • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes • Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports • Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, labor, overhead, and material usage • Perform variance analysis related to production, spending, labor efficiency, and inventory • Assist with the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans • Maintain and improve standard costing processes and cost accuracy • Partner with operations teams to review plant performance and identify cost-saving opportunities • Support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory valuation processes • Help ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and financial procedures • Assist with audit requests and documentation for internal and external auditors • Develop and track key performance indicators for plant financial and operational performance • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen reporting, controls, and plant profitability • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making by plant leadership
