Staff Software Engineer- Eng
About this role
Why UKG:
At UKG, the work you do matters. The code you ship, the decisions you make, and the care you show a customer all add up to real impact. Today, tens of millions of workers start and end their days with our workforce operating platform. Helping people get paid, grow in their careers, and shape the future of their industries. That’s what we do.
We never stop learning. We never stop challenging the norm. We push for better, and we celebrate the wins along the way. Here, you’ll get flexibility that’s real, benefits you can count on, and a team that succeeds together. Because at UKG, your work matters—and so do you.
About the Team The Engineering Data Systems team is the data and analytics backbone of UKG’s engineering organization. We provision engineering data, define the metrics behind it, and deliver the reports and dashboards leaders rely on to understand delivery, quality, and operational health. The team is now expanding its scope to bring more of engineering’s data provisioning and metrics reporting under one roof, and this role is part of that growth.
About the Role As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll set the technical direction for the expanded reporting portfolio and guide solutions from idea to production. • You’ll architect data pipelines, API and microservices-based data services, analytics models, and observability so new reporting products ship without rework. • You’ll define canonical data models and schema contracts in OpenAPI and AVRO and set standards for detecting and handling schema drift and data drift. • You’ll define the team’s standards for data quality, testing, security, monitoring, CI/CD, and production readiness. • You’ll review designs and code, resolve cross-system issues, and mentor Software Engineer III team members to those standards. • You’ll partner with platform and value-stream leaders to move products into sustainable business-hours support, with occasional overlap with United States-based colleagues. About You
