Retail - Sales Assistant

8 Hours per Week

Joining us – it’s more than just a job! Join a team that has been baking fresh, quality products since 1885. From our beginnings in Scarborough, we have grown to nearly 160 shops across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East—but our commitment to great products, exceptional service and strong local communities continues to guide everything we do.

Our two bakeries are a big part of who we are. It’s where our bakery teams bring together quality ingredients, traditional know-how and modern production methods to make the products our customers enjoy every day. From making and baking to packing and delivering, a lot goes on behind the scenes to ensure our shops are stocked with fresh, great-tasting products.

Our success is built by passionate people working together across our bakeries, shops and support teams. When you join us, you’ll be valued for the contribution you make, supported to develop and given opportunities to share ideas and make a meaningful difference.

We’re proud to offer a welcoming and inclusive workplace where people from all backgrounds can grow, succeed and thrive. If you’re ready to build your career with a business that values its people and heritage while continuing to look ahead, we’d love to hear from you.

What makes a brilliant Sales Assistant? You don’t need to know everything from day one—we’ll give you the training and support you need. What matters most to us, is that you bring a positive attitude and enjoy making a difference for customers.

You’ll be:

• Friendly and customer-focused – you enjoy helping people and creating a great experience. • A natural team player – you work well with others and are always ready to support your colleagues. • Reliable – you arrive ready to get involved and take pride in doing a great job. • Positive and enthusiastic – you approach each shift with a can-do attitude and a willingness to get involved. • Ready to learn – you’re keen to develop new skills and take on new challenges. • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment – you enjoy staying busy and take pride in delivering great service. • Committed to food safety – you’ll follow all hygiene, allergen and safety procedures, including our standards for nails, jewellery and piercings. It’s all part of keeping you, our customers and our products safe. • Flexible – wherever possible, we offer set shifts and provide rotas three weeks in advance, but some flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends, may be required. • Comfortable handling food – this is a food-handling role, so you’ll need to work with our full range of products, including meat and items containing allergens.
