Junior Nanofabrication Engineer
About this role
About the job
We are looking for a Junior Nanofabrication Engineer for our client’s brand new, state of the art, semiconductor and fabrication laboratory in Kongens Lyngby. The lab is among the most advanced in Europe and you get to work with cutting edge technology in a highly dynamic environment of scientist, researchers and engineers trying to push the boundaries of computing.
Material science and fabrication are the foundation and the enablers of qubit devices. In their research, our client deals with complex stacks of different materials, combined at the nanoscale, and require high repeatability of fabrication processes. The fabrication of qubit devices is a challenging, multistep process pushing the boundaries of nanotechnology and nanopatterning techniques.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of this ground-breaking approach to new technologies.
Responsibilities and tasks:
• Execute daily fabrication and measurement tasks according to the standard operating procedures and the pre-agreed flows. • Monitor and report any process deviations. ▪ Create and submit reports of the results according to the pre-defined forms. • Provide service delivery expertise in operating micro- and nanofabrication tools or other relevant expertise. • Communicate and report to the lead person. • Provide service delivery in English (oral and written). • Continuously improve the service quality and efficiency. • Help train new employees
Some tasks/processes are of a repetitive nature. Most of the work is done inside the cleanroom.
Qualifications The ideal candidate would be a recent graduate with a master’s degree in an experimental science (physics, chemistry, nanotech, etc.) with experience in most of the below mentioned:
• MSc in materials science, nanoscience, physics or similar • Hands-on experience in a cleanroom/Lab with semiconductor processing • Understands clean room rules, protocols, and practices • Handling samples • Experience in metrology with tools, such as Optical Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) as well as image processing for automated Critical Dimension (CD) measurements • Experience in processing with III-V material systems is a plus Experience with Electron Beam Lithography
Other qualities we hope the candidate has
• Positive and openminded • Willingness to learn and master repetitive fabrication processes – that requires a high level of concentration. • Hands-on problem solver, engaging. • Enjoys collaborating with researchers and technical staff with a range of experience. • Efficient, timely, and precise. • Fluent in written & oral English. • Strong communication skills. • Research and/or lab experience. • Ability to quickly integrate and work in a multidisciplinary, international team and effectively collaborate and communicate to meet the deadlines and deliver against program goals.
