Product Manager (m/f/d) – Autonomous Asset Management | Maintenance Schedule Optimization
About this role
What you'll bring
You are a product manager who prototypes AI solutions quickly and translates complex asset management challenges into scalable, reusable products.
• A track record of rapid AI prototyping — demonstrated through concrete examples, iterative validation, and critical assessment of outputs. • Practical product management experience translating customer needs into reusable solutions, with technical fluency for effective collaboration with engineers. • Strong understanding of agentic AI, context engineering, AI output quality assurance, and AI-assisted automation. • Working knowledge of governance, security, compliance, privacy, and responsible data handling. • Analytical rigour, customer focus, and clear communication — excellent English required. Experience in asset management or asset-intensive industries is a plus.
We also look for people who think strategically, understand the business, and can bring others along with them — combining influencing skills and emotional intelligence with the ability to work through complex problems confidently.
In addition to the skills and experience specific to this role, all positions at SAP require candidates who are comfortable using AI tools — including agentic AI — in their day-to-day work, from crafting effective inputs and automating routine tasks, to evaluating AI-generated outputs for quality and driving adoption of AI practices within their teams.
What you'll build
You will own the full lifecycle of Maintenance Schedule Optimization templates and reusables — from discovery through continuous improvement.
• Define the vision, scope, and priorities for Maintenance Schedule Optimization templates combining agentic AI, intelligent automation, and advanced optimization. • Build prototypes using generative AI and low-code tools to validate maintenance schedule concepts, planning scenarios, and agentic workflows with customers early. • Identify recurring customer challenges and translate them into business workflows, decision criteria, and enterprise data requirements. • Set measurable success criteria with customers — such as planning effort, schedule adherence, or asset availability — and use feedback and usage data to improve reusability. • Partner with product, platform, AI, and delivery teams to turn emerging AI capabilities into enterprise-ready templates and reusables.
Where you belong
You will join the Industry AI unit for Energy and Natural Resources — a growing team in Munich building AI-powered solutions for asset-intensive industries. The team focuses on Autonomous Asset Management, helping companies maintain and optimize critical assets with AI. The unit is expanding, and your work will shape how major industries approach maintenance planning and asset optimization at scale.
