Description
Position Summary: Development of new products (with Color& Pattern) to achieve customers’ expectations and identify strategies to modify or improve current products and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Process evaluation & management for product development • Devise and manage product development procedures • Lead design, fabrication, & installation of new equipment for product development purposes • Lead Q-Gate process to ensure the quality of newly developed products & shipment/supply of new products to outside vendors for marketing purposes • Optimize manufacturing processes and troubleshoot production issues on newly developed products to ensure product quality and process stabilization • Manage and evaluate raw material performance on the products • Perform chemical & mechanical laboratory scale testing and pilot-scale testing in production line • Create, store, analyze & manage the data from all tests which are performed in both lab and production line. • Communicate and exchange information with other departments to reach customers’ expectations on the products • Assist the production engineer to troubleshoot production issues and analyze production conditions • Prepare and maintain technical documents such as product specifications, BOMs, SOPs, work instructions, and Technical Data Sheets (TDS)
•Train production operators and engineers on new product processes
Requirements
Qualifications: Listed below are the minimum and/or desired qualifications of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills that are required to perform satisfactorily in the position:
Education and Work Experience:
• Education: Chemistry, Chemistry Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related • 3+ experiences in surfaces development are preferred but not required
Knowledge and Skills: • New Product & Pattern Development
• Creative Design and Material Innovation • Root Cause Analysis and Process Improvement • Project Planning and Execution • Material Testing and Performance Evaluation • Technical Problem Solving • Cross-functional Communication • CAD & 3D Modeling (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks)
Physical Demands:
• Position requires regular interaction with customers and clients. • Position requires sitting at a desk working on a computer for at least 2/3 of time. • Position requires the ability to lift up to 140lbs with the assistance of another person. • Position requires regular and reliable attendance. • Position requires travel up to 10 % of time, including overnight travel in the territory.
