Associate Development Architect (M/F)

What you'll bring

You are a software engineer with solid experience in distributed systems and scalable data platforms. You bring technical depth and the ability to work autonomously on complex engineering challenges.

• Solid grounding in distributed systems design — concurrency, parallelisation, consensus, scheduling, and resource management — applied in multithreaded production environments • Experience building scalable microservices and high-throughput APIs for data processing platforms • Proficiency in Java for production-grade software development • Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes across private and public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) • Awareness with distributed file systems — S3, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), or HDFS — and with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) in database or data management platforms • A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience

What you'll build

You will take ownership across the full development lifecycle of distributed systems within SAP's database cloud platform.

• Build and contribute to distributed data processing components: proficiency protocols, locking and consensus, scheduling, auto-scaling, and self-healing • Deliver scalability and performance through sound concurrency and parallelisation in multithreaded, distributed environments • Build and maintain robust, scalable APIs with low-latency access to distributed storage • Participate actively in code and design reviews to maintain engineering quality and deepen system comprehending across the team • Support team growth through hiring participation, coaching, and contributing to engineering best practices
